I thought this video did a great job of explaining in lay terms what exactly happened to the housing bubble and subsequent credit crisis.

It is interesting in this day and age to think about where the information we get comes from and who decides what is “reality”. Reality is most certainly not standard and is defined mainly by those in power. Perception is reality.
